Shoes made for women, by women.
Vanessa Wu, shoemaking for her.
A little reminder about the big event: March 8, 2021, 44th International Women’s Rights Day, or International Women’s Day according to the UN. A day made official by the United Nations in 1977, celebrated in countries all over the world, born from the social movements of the 20th century. But also a day that reminds us, above all, that equality between men and women remains an everyday battle, even today.
Every day of the year is International Women’s Day at Vanessa Wu, and it should be that way everywhere, for all women, in every corner of the world.
Women’s wellbeing: a constant theme
The Vanessa Wu company is the story of a young woman, Vanessa, creator of the eponymous brand, who, after a weakness developing in her foot as she was growing up, was forced to choose her shoes according to specific criteria. Faced with a very limited choice once she’d made comfort her absolute priority, Vanessa was already sketching out her future vocation, without even realizing it: a shoe brand combining comfort and style. At the heart of her brand’s identity is empathy for women and self-confidence. How? By starting with feeling good in our shoes.
There is no limit to what we as women can accomplish

A women’s story...
Did you know that behind these shoes, there is the most beautiful partnership? A mother and daughter team! Every day, Vanessa and her mother invent and reinvent gorgeous shoes that you wear because they are, quite simply, the best for your feet. A story of women who work day in day out for what to them is so much more than just a brand: it’s liberty. Liberty for their customers, the everyday heroines whose days seem like marathons, but, also, liberty for Vanessa and her mother: queens of the business they’ve built up themselves from A to Z. Quite simply, girl bosses!
...and a long-lasting one (just like our shoes!)
And yes, at Vanessa’s headquarters, 60% of employees are women! Equality starts with parity: normally rare in companies, but respected at Vanessa Wu. In the sales department, through e-commerce, customer services right through to communications, it is women, from various backgrounds and of many different kinds, who work hard to keep our family brand going strong.
